What You'll Need Before Riding An Electric Board At Night

Skateboard sparks at night

Yes, you can ride your electric skateboard at night. Here's what you'll need:

Shredlights

Shredlights attach to the front and back end of your board (as shown in the video) and they are one of, if not the, most important thing to have when riding at night. Why? Two reasons: first, they allow you to see what's in front of you so you can over come adversities in the road such as cracked pavement, dirt, rocks, etc. Secondly, they provide light so that others can see you. Whether it's cars, bikers, or even trains it doesn't matter. People need to be able to see you or bad things will happen. DO NOT ride at night without lights aiming in front and behind your board.

Protective Gear

Obviously, you should wear a helmet and all the other protective gear you usually wear when riding. At night, it is advised to take extra measures because the risk of falling is higher. Try to at least make sure no part of your body is exposed, road rash is not fun. Also wear reflective gear if you can, so that you can be seen by others. I know you may think reflective gear doesn't look cool, but neither does going to the hospital... trust me, it's not worth it.

Sliding Pucks

Okay, you don't actually NEED these but they're so awesome I couldn't NOT include them. Sliding pucks are most commonly used in downhill skating so you can get closer to the ground BUT they also provide bad ass sparks at night (as shown in the video). Important note: Not all sliding pucks have the ability to produce sparks so if you get them be sure to check you get the ones that spark on contact.
